Belgrade is the bustling capital and largest city of Serbia. It is located at the confluence of the polluted Sava and the clean Danube rivers. The city has a population of over 1.1 million, making it one of the largest cities in Eastern Europe. It is one of the oldest prehistoric settlements of Europe, in the 6th millennium BC.
