Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the River Nile
in the city today known as Luxor (ancient Thebes) and was founded in 1400 BC. The importance of the city started as early as the 11th Dynasty by King Mento-hotep. The city of Thebes was the capital of the fourth Nome of Upper Egypt. The main local god was the God Amon Ra.
