Central America

In the fast-paced swirl of international gay politics and human rights activism, Central America is easy to overlook since it is such a minor geographic area and few if any leading events happen there. But don't be fooled. Within these seven small countries (excluding Mexico) there are dozens of energized and compassionate LGBT groups going about the daily tasks of protecting and counseling youth, lobbying government bodies, educating about HIV and safe-sex, making public demonstrations for equality, combating homophobia and raising awareness about homosexuality in macho cultures.
